Summer Promise Program

The СÓÅÊÓƵ Summer Promise Program is a free, week-long college readiness program for rising ninth graders, along with the 2024 pilot class.  

Upcoming Program Dates: June 22—June 28, 2025

Through this residential program, selected students experience a snapshot of the holistic college experience to strengthen their confidence and enthusiasm for persisting in high school and pursuing higher education.  

Students experience courses co-taught by СÓÅÊÓƵ faculty and teachers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools. 

Outside of class hours, the students engage with the many co-curricular experiences and facilities at СÓÅÊÓƵ.

Program Highlights

  • The program is designed to increase college readiness and empower students to unlock their promise and potential to attend college, and pursue their dreams.
  • 30 students will spend seven days in June on the beautiful СÓÅÊÓƵ campus, experiencing a taste of residential college life.
  • Family representatives will receive valuable information on the college admissions process, financial aid requirements, and scholarship opportunities.

2024 Key Dates

These dates are for reference—please check back soon for the 2025 program timeline.

  • March 15: Application priority deadline
  • April 15, by 5 p.m.: Application final deadline
  • End of April: Admission decisions shared
  • May 19 by 5 p.m.: Registration due for accepted scholars
  • June 23, by 4 p.m.: Check into the residence hall 
  • June 29, 9 a.m.–noon: Nurturing the Promise—Supporting Your Scholar’s College Journey (workshop for family representatives)
  • June 29, by 4 p.m.: Check out of the residence hall
